At the heart of the Tun Razak Foundation is a commitment to building stronger, more resilient communities. Guided by Tun Abdul Razak’s vision of a compassionate and united nation, our community development work focuses on uplifting lives, creating access, and restoring dignity where it is needed most.
Our initiatives are designed to deliver real help on the ground, while opening pathways for long-term growth and opportunity.
We believe education should never be limited by circumstance. Through targeted financial assistance, the Foundation supports students from poor rural families and Orang Asli communities across Malaysia, with a strong focus on Kelantan, Kedah, Sabah, and Sarawak.
Since 2012, this initiative has enabled nearly 1,000 students to continue their education. Between 2011 and 2015, more than RM157,300 was channeled directly to support students from underserved schools helping to ease financial burdens and keep young people in classrooms.
The Foundation stands alongside communities during times of hardship. Through ongoing welfare contributions, we support orphanages, homes for the elderly, and organisations caring for vulnerable groups, ensuring essential needs are met.
When national disasters occur, the Foundation responds with financial assistance for affected families, helping communities recover and rebuild. These efforts are grounded in empathy, speed, and accountability reaching those most impacted.
Community development is most effective when it reaches people directly. Our welfare and CSR initiatives are carried out with hands-on involvement from the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and alumni, ensuring support is delivered at the grassroots level.
Alumni-led outreach activities, including career and motivational talks for youth in rural areas and FELDA settlements, provide guidance, inspiration, and exposure to future opportunities. The Foundation also supports university student associations by funding activities that strengthen knowledge, confidence, and intellectual growth.
Between 2011 and 2015, over RM123,000 was invested in community outreach, motivational programmes, and charitable initiatives nationwide.
