Melwyn Pak

For Melwyn Pak, a 2009 alumnus from St. Paul’s Institution, Seremban, the programme reshaped his passion for Computer Science. It showed him that technology is not just about innovation, but about addressing real national challenges and building an inclusive society.

He went on to study Computer Science at Brown University (USA), where he combined his technical training with interests in public policy and social impact. Today, Melwyn works as a Software Architect, developing digital solutions that improve access to government services and education for underserved communities.

Through purpose-driven technology, Melwyn continues to uphold the programme’s vision—using innovation to unite Malaysians and strengthen the nation.

Charlaine Adrienne Chin

Alumni 2004

“The Tun Razak Leadership Programme showed me that the law is the foundation of a just and united Malaysia.”

For Charlaine Adrienne Chin, a 2004 alumna from S.M. All Saints, Kota Kinabalu, the programme transformed her understanding of how national unity is protected through justice and the rule of law. Growing up in Sabah, she developed a deep appreciation for Malaysia’s diversity, which the programme helped shape into a commitment to public service.

She went on to earn her LLB (Hons) from Cardiff University, UK, and complete her Bar Vocational Course, with the goal of bringing international legal perspectives home. Today, Charlaine is a practising lawyer specialising in constitutional law and public interest litigation, advocating for underserved communities and upholding fundamental rights.

Her work reflects the programme’s enduring legacy—strengthening unity through fairness, equality, and justice for all Malaysians.

Muhammad Noor Firdaus Rosli

Alumni 2001

“The Tun Razak Leadership Programme taught me that true leadership lies in finding common ground for the good of the nation.”

For Muhammad Noor Firdaus Rosli, a 2001 alumnus of Sekolah Izzuddin Shah, Ipoh, the programme deepened his understanding of Malaysia’s unique dual legal system and the importance of balance in nation-building. Inspired by Tun Razak’s pragmatic approach, he saw the law not as a source of division, but as a tool for unity.

He pursued a double degree in Civil Law and Shariah Law at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and later obtained a Master of Comparative Laws from the same institution, recognising the importance of bridging the two legal frameworks in Malaysia and juxtaposing Malaysian laws with foreign laws as the nation continues to engage as a progressive global player. He has been a member of the Judicial and Legal Service of Malaysia since 2008 and has served in various judicial capacities across all levels of the courts, including as Magistrate, Deputy Registrar, Research Officer, Special Officer to the Chief Judge of Malaya, and Special Officer to the President of the Court of Appeal. He has authored reported judgments and academic publications. He has also had the privilege of representing Malaysia at international conferences.

His work reflects the programme’s core values—respecting tradition while advancing progress, practising moderation, and strengthening unity through thoughtful and inclusive leadership.

Dr. Giritharan Muniandy

Alumni 1998

“The Tun Razak Leadership Programme taught me that serving the nation begins with caring for its people.”

For Dr. Giritharan Muniandy, a 1998 alumnus from Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur, the programme reshaped his understanding of success—from personal achievement to meaningful service. Inspired by Tun Razak’s commitment to uplifting rural communities, he chose a path where his skills could make the greatest impact.

He pursued his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at AIMST University, Kedah, and today serves as a medical doctor in a public hospital, treating patients from all backgrounds. Through his work, he embodies compassion, unity, and dedication to community well-being.

Dr. Giritharan’s journey reflects the programme’s core values—using professional excellence in service of the people, and strengthening the nation through care, empathy, and purpose.

Khoo Ji Yi

Alumni 1999

“The Tun Razak Leadership Programme gave me the purpose behind my pursuit of science.”

For Dr. Khoo Ji Yi, a 1999 alumna from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Perlis, the programme connected her passion for science with national development. Exposure to Malaysia’s diversity and Tun Razak’s vision inspired her to see innovation as a tool for nation-building.

She went on to earn a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, driven by the goal of applying global expertise to local challenges. Today, Dr. Khoo is a leading researcher in sustainable energy and green technology, developing solutions that support cleaner industries and environmental protection.

Her work reflects the programme’s enduring impact advancing Malaysia’s future through innovation, sustainability, and service to the nation.
